People

Bentley Motors is fortunate to have one of the most dedicated, technically gifted and skilful workforces in the world.

Bentley employees are known internally as Colleagues and since the Volkswagen Group acquired the company in 1998, the number of Colleagues working at our Crewe site has increased from 1,500 to more than 4,000 today.

We place tremendous value on our staff, who have helped us achieve a tenfold increase in production since 1998. Our workforce is integral to Bentley’s core values and everyone is encouraged to live up to the dictum, ‘Be the best I can be.’

In 2017 the Top Employers Institute named Bentley one of Britain’s Top Employers for the sixth consecutive year. The award is in addition to Bentley’s existing Investors in People Silver status, which is recognised worldwide as a trademark for excellence. Attaining such recognition is clear proof of Bentley’s people management skills and our continued commitment to staff development. Our aim now is to work towards obtaining Gold standard, which would be a first for a UK automotive manufacturer.
